Об исполнителе:
Jean-Hyacinth Rottenburgh (1672—1756) was a Belgian luthier and instrument-maker from Brussels, father of Godfroid-Adrien Rottenburgh (1703—'68), one of his family dynasty's most prolific builder. He made recorders, flutes, oboes, bassoons, violins, and cellos. Rottenburghs were leading providers of wind instruments in Belgium, exclusive suppliers for the Royal Court and Brussels' city cathedral, and faced virtually no competition in the early XVIII century. Recorders and flutes are mainly of French tradition, while in stringed instruments, the Rottenburgh family followed Flemish and German canon (with some Italian influence). Godfroid-Adrien, as well as his grandson, François-Joseph (1743—1803), continued to use Jean-Hyacinth's label I.H./Rottenburgh posthumously.
