The Moscow Symphony Orchestra "Russian Philharmonic" was founded on April 20, 2000 by a decree of the Moscow government. In 2001, Gayane Shiladzhyan / Гаянэ Шиладжян was appointed director of the orchestra by the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow. The group gave its first concert on March 19, 2001 in the Grand Hall Of The Moscow Conservatoire. The Moscow Symphony Orchestra "Russian Philharmonic" is the resident orchestra of the Moscow International House Of Music (ММДМ). Since 2002, from the very moment of its opening, ММДМ has been a concert and rehearsal base for the "Russian Philharmonic".
