Moscow International House Of Music
Настоящее имя: Moscow International House Of Music
The Moscow International House of Music or Moscow International Performing Arts Center.
Московский международный Дом музыки (ММДМ) (in Russian) - one of the concert centers of Russia.
Opened in December 2002, it has four auditoriums with over 3065 seats. Since the inauguration, the Moscow House of Music has operated under the direction of conductor and violinist Vladimir Spivakov. It's an official residency for National Philharmonic Orchestra Of Russia and Moscow Virtuosi ensembles.
The venue's largest space, Svetlanov Hall Of The Moscow International House Of Music (named after a renowned Russian conductor Evgeni Svetlanov), houses a notable German organ by Glatter-Götz & Klais. The instrument, manufactured at the Johannes Klais Orgelbau KG factory in Bonn, has an original disposition devised by Philipp Klais, the firm's director, in collaboration with Caspar Glatter-Götz and Pavel Kravchun (one of the leading Russian organologists, an associate professor of acoustics at Moscow State University). The organ features four manuals (61 keys each), a pedal keyboard (32 pedals), and 86 registers. It's one of the first contemporary organs in the world to feature such registers as Courcellina, Alpen Horn, Viola di Alta, or Vox balenae.
There are 4 halls in the House of Music:
- Svetlanovsky Hall / Svetlanov Hall Of The Moscow International House Of Music
- Chamber Hall
- Theater Hall
- Schnittke Hall (named after the Russian composer Alfred Schnittke)
