American photographer (29 January 1922 — 12 February 1988, Boston, Massachusetts). Paul Petricone is best known as one of the Heliographers, co-founders of the influential mid-1960s artist-run cooperative in New York, alongside Walter Chappell, Paul Caponigro (2), Marie Cosindas and William Clift. Over the years, he had numerous solo and group shows in Boston, NYC, and other metropolitan art centers. A few notable highlights include Nature—Man and Remnants (1963), a three-man exhibition with Carl Chiarenza and Nicholas Dean at Hicks Street Gallery in Brooklyn Heights, NYC, or a renowned Light (1968), curated by Minor White at MIT's Hayden Gallery. Petricone's photos are in permanent collections at the Museum Of Fine Arts Boston, Vassar College's Art Center and Harvard Art Museums, among others.
