Sister Psychic is an Alternative Rock, Alternative Pop, Indie band ran by Andy Davenhall during his musical peak, along with Christian Fulghum tagging along for the ride of the band. Being especially known locally throughout Seattle, they'd often be confused for being "Grunge", due to the grungy-ness of their current musical space. They made live debuts covering already existing songs like "Lucifer Sam" and "Kim The Waitress", their debut release, Fuel in 1992 being even more grungy due to the harsh times Andy was facing, which affected the music heavily; Though the band is far more diverse than that. Ranging from Northwest, Indie Folk, and New York Alternative Pop, the band sounded closer to Soundgarden, more than they did compared to popular grunge bands at the time like Nirvana, yet still with many Soulful attributes. Davenhall & Fulghum, have had a long history of experimenting with indie songs, and when Andy had moved from Upstate New York to Seattle, from around the Pacific Northwest area, this is where most of the ideas for Sister Psychic started forming. Thanks to Andy, the band got in touch with huge helps like Chris Hanzsek and Jack Endino, for production of their releases. Along with support from PopLLama, Restless Records, and even some experience (from Andy) working with Sub Pop, they would be able to launch 2 more albums after making Fuel. Surrender, You Freak, was very much on the experimental side of bringing together Folk and Alternative Rock, which didn't end too well commercial, for such a different sound wouldn't reach too far with the mainstream, though it made enough copies to warrant their last release Catch And Release before disbanding fully in 1997 Though Andy & Christian would comeback together again with the, Ottoman Bigwigs, to form The Lawnmowers (4), the spiritual successor band to Sister Psychic.
