Verde70 Ecuadorian band of "rock power pop" of the city of Quito formed in 1997 under the name of "Alegre Depresión", when their original members Darío Castro (vocals, guitar) and David Arízaga (drums) joined together to make music in their High School days. Already for the year of 1999, Verde70 would be born as a mixture of names: Baygon Verde (first band by Darío Castro) with Sweet 75 (band formed by Krist Novoselic after Nirvana). For the same year, Diego Saa (bass, chorus) joined the group and the band began preparing some themes for a musical contest organized by the municipality of Quito. After winning that contest, Verde70 debuted in front of a large audience at the “Ágora de la Casa de la Cultura” as a opening act for the band "Los De Adentro". Their great performance in that concert, allowed them to play in Colombia, where the band would obtain the financing of their first album through the company called Sponsor Group, so in the month of July of the year 2000 their album Alegre Depresión was officially presented. In 2003, the band released their second album Ruta Melancolía with César Galarza (guitar, producer) with him Verde70 achieved a more refined sound. In 2006 the band released their double live album called ConCierto Cuidado (En Vivo). After several tours nationally and internationally, the band decides to take a five-year break (20008-2012). Finally, through social media, on October 16, 2012, the band announces their return with new members: Bastián Napolitano (drums), Christian Dreyer (bass, chorus), with whom they performed new singles and several concerts. Their latest studio album Verde70 was released in 2015 with his original bassist Diego Saa.
