When Rir was formed, some of the members were still busy with activities in other bands. Therefore, it probably took about a year until they started recording their songs, and another year until their first album, Rir, was completed, which was released in 1995. The album included pieces of hard heavy rock, full of guitars and dark, which were composed and arranged by all the band members together. Each of the members sings the songs he wrote... the band received surprising exposure on Channel 1's culture program, "Yoman Tarbut", where they performed the song "Eese Balayla". But the overall media attention to Rir's album was very limited, and it received attention mainly on radio programs that are fond of alternative Israeli rock, and, as you know, there aren't many of those... After the release of the album, Adam Horowitz retired from the band, and his friends continued without him, and shortened the band's name to Rare (רר).
