Linnea Hällqvist

Swedish classical violinist, born on October 28, 1986 in Ål, Dalarna. Linnea Hällqvist started playing the violin at Leksand's music school with a folk musical focus and then continued a classical education at Uppsala music classes and music school. After a year at the Falun Conservatory of Music, she studied to become a musician at bachelor's and master's level at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, Sweden. In 2008, she co-founded MalvaKvartetten, a quartet which has studied chamber music at the Hochschule für Musik ("Internationale Hanns Eisler Gesellschaft (IHEG) e.V.") in Berlin, Germany. Linnea has also studied for three years with Professor Andreas Reiner in Berlin. Her great interest in chamber music in various forms means that as a freelance musician she has travelled all over Sweden and Germany, mainly together with MalvaKvartetten. There is a special love for early music and she likes to move between wide genres such as Swedish folk music, tango and pop. Linnea Hällqvist is married to Jonas Viklund and lives in Falun, Dalarna in 2022.
