Swedish jazz pianist, composer and arranger, born 4 February 1939, died 13 July 2016 in Stockholm. During the early 1960s, Lindberg became known as a frequently hired musician at the jazz restaurant Gyllene Cirkeln in Stockholm. Don Byas, Coleman Hawkins, Lucky Thompson, Stuff Smith, Mark Murphy, Anita O'Day, Johnny Griffin are some famous people he has worked with. Swedish artists include Monica Zetterlund, Eje Thelin, Bernt Rosengren, Putte Wickman, Rolf Billberg, Svante Thuresson, Barbro Hörberg and many more, but also many revue artists such as Sickan Carlsson, Hjördis Petterson and Anita Lindblom. In 1974–1975 he was pianist and arranger at PoW Show II with Povel Ramel and Wencke Myhre. He was conductor at Folkan in Stockholm 1976–1978 and employed at the Royal Academy of Music as a teacher and inspirer 1980–2004. In the 1980s, he played on Orkesterjournalen's Golden Record winner three years in a row, with Bertil Lövgren, Krister Anderson and Rolf Ericsson respectively.. Lindberg's only record release in his own name is Don't Explain (Dragon 1984).
