Borbee's Jass Orchestra
Настоящее имя: Borbee's Jass Orchestra
Об исполнителе:
New York City-based five-piece dance band led by pianist Ernest Borbee that recorded four titles for Columbia in February and August 1917. Instrumentation was piano, xylophone, two banjos, and violin. According to the Columbia files, the band used the name "Borbee's Tango Orchestra" at its first session. When Columbia released the resulting record in June 1917, however, the company had renamed the band "Borbee's 'Jass' Orchestra" to capitalize on the new craze for everything "jass" or "jazz" after the Original Dixieland 'Jass' Band had a huge hit with their April 1917 release of Dixieland Jass Band One Step / Livery Stable Blues.
