Swedish composer and piano teacher, born March 6, 1916 in Gävle, died September 11, 2005 in Falun. She studied counterpoint and composition for Melcher Melchers at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and graduated as a music teacher in 1942. She also studied piano for Gottfrid Boon and composition studies for Nadia Boulanger in Paris. From 1952 she worked in Falun as a piano teacher at the high school. In 1970, she was elected to the Association of Swedish Composers (FST) and was for many years its only female member. She was awarded the Musical Academy's medal for the promotion of the musical arts, and she has also received the Falu municipality's cultural prize, working scholarships from the Musical Academy and the Artists' Association in Stockholm, as well as a scholarship from FST. She was chosen as "Composer of the Year" within the framework of the festival Music at Siljan in 1987. With her compositions, she has been represented at the Swedish Music Year in 1976, 1982 and 1987 as well as at the Nordic Music Days in Reykjavik in 1976.
