Об исполнителе:
Swedish composer, born 30 May 1882 in Stockholm, died 9 April 1961. He studied in Paris in the 1910s and was strongly influenced by French music, something that is also reflected in his own compositions. After returning home, he eventually became a teacher of harmony and counterpoint at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. At a time when the German influence on Swedish music life was compact, a composer with his focus had a hard time asserting himself and he therefore had to work mainly in silence. In recent years, however, a certain restoration of Melcher's music has been noticeable. Works by Melchers include a symphony and a piano concerto as well as a string quartet in G major from 1922. Melcher Melchers was elected in 1932 as member no. 604 of the Royal Academy of Music.
