Collegium Musicum Basel

The Collegium Musicum Basel (Switzerland) was founded in 1951 on the initiative of committed members of the then Basel Theatre Orchestra and its conductor Albert E. Kaiser. As the oldest free professional orchestra, it makes an independent contribution to the diversity of musical life in Basel. The name "Collegium Musicum Basel" is also a commitment, as this name can look back on a 300-year tradition in Basel.
