Salvador Rodríguez (b. Belén, Carabobo state, June 24, 1920 - d. San Mateo, Aragua state, May 27, 1992). Rodríguez a reputed Venezuelan folklorist, harpist and composer is a reference at the time to talk about tuyero's joropo or central joropo. When he was five years old with his family moved to Aragua state, specifically to Pao de Zárate, an agricultural region where started his harp studies guided by master Saturno Linero. Later Salvador learned in deep the office of tuyero's harp with musiscians as Pedro Matos, Lorenzo Verenzuela, Florencio Morales y Alberto Urica. The professional debut happened on August 1936, along side the singer Laureano Mogollón, the next year became the harpist of standout singer of tuyero's joropo, Quintín Duarte, and both oh them recorded the first one disc on format 78 RPM with this kind of Venezuelan folklore rythm. After Quintín Duarte passed away, Pedro Pablo Romero a.k.a "El Chirulí de Aragua" joined him and began a long way of success in this genre. Later every one of the most reputed singers of the genre sang along Salvador Rodríguez, between many of them, Silvino Armas, Arístides Villamizar, Antonio "Negro" Pacheco, Julio Pérez and the last one Margarito Aristiguieta, who sang along him until the Salvador Rodríguez death. Salvador Rodríguez was a tuyero's joropo embassador and played in different theaters and scenaries in Colombia, Cuba, México and Panamá.
