Margarito Aristiguieta (b. Guareguare, Miranda state, October 25, 1925 - d. La Victoria, Aragua state, September 11, 2014). Margarito as he was well known, is a Venezuelan iconic singer, one of the maximum exponent of the tuyero's joropo, typical music from Miranda and Aragua states, where is relevant only two musicians for each group, in tha way, a harpist with a kind of harp with metal strings is acompanning a singer who in is marking the rythm playing maracas, generally the singer is improvising verses a long the song. This type of music is also known as "Arpa y buche", in alusion of the exclusive interpretation by a harpist and a singer. Margarito in his early years began to sang in the parties of coffee's recollectors in Miranda state, esencially the verses were about the hard working day and some anecdotic situation. After that, start his singer carrear along side Quintin Briceño a Harpist of his neighbordhood, later continued as singer of reknowned harpists as Fulgencio Aquino, Ciro Pimentel y Salvador Rodríguez, between others. The art of Margarito has traveled along the Caribbean as a standout Vvenezuelan folklorist.
