Carl Frank

American radio, TV, and stage actor and announcer. Born: 27 February 1909 in Weehawken, New Jersey Died: 23 September 1972 in St. John, US Virgin Islands. Married to actress Gertrude Warner (1955-7). He was a member of Orson Welles's American Mercury Theater and was one of the actors in the famous “War of the Worlds” broadcast in 1938. He attended the Choate School and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he later taught. He appeared in leading roles in such radio shows as “Buck Rogers,” “Young Dr. Malone” and “Betty and Bob,” as well as acting in the televi sion productions “Naked City,” “I Remember Mama,” “Edge of Night” and “Studio. One.”
