Ando Hiroshi

Hiroshi Ando (b. 13 June 1965, Tokyo) is a Japanese film director and screenwriter active since 1999. Ando joined a cinema study group at WASEDA University in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and around 1989, began working as an assistant director in the adult film industry. In 1998, Ando authored and directed a debut movie, "Dead BEAT," reaching international breakthrough with his 2002 romantic drama "blue" with Otomo Yoshihide's soundtrack based on the eponymous manga by Kiriko Nananan.
