Morris Chenier

Blues guitarist and fiddle player, born in Opelousas, Louisiana, but later relocated to Lake Charles. In the 1950s, he toured both as a solo artist and backing up his nephew, Clifton Chenier. He recorded several blues tracks for Goldband Records, including "Let Me Hold Your Hand" and "Please Try to Realize." He also owned a restaurant, Chenier Barbecue and Smoke House, in Lake Charles.
