Sylvain Quément

Musical half of the french sonic & visual duo Gangpol & Mit. DJ and co-founder of Radio Minus, dedicated to the hidden worldwide treasures of music recorded for and by children. Member of the kiddy band Carton Park. Since 2001, Sylvain Quément was involved in numerous live performances with Gangpol & Mit (touring in various countries all over Europe, Asia, South America and beyond), multimedia installations ("Mécaludoïd", "La Boîte"...), soundtracks for cinema (Cosmodrama / Atopic), animation (Shazzam super 2000 / Normaal) or video games (Vestiaire touch, Bitflip... ), as well as dance and circus (Cie Defracto, Monad, Atama to kuchi...) or institutions (Capitaine Futur / La Gaité Lyrique). For the french-based studios Umanimation & Un je ne sais quoi, he did the sound design for the french video game Dordogne. Together with his partner Guillaume Castagne, the wrote, directed and scored the animation series Globozone (Umanimation / Arte.tv). In addition to several exhibitions, workshops or lectures, Gangpol & Mit released records on various labels (including Wwilko in France, Ipecac in the USA or Out One Disc in Japan), as well as a DVD for the german publisher Pictoplasma. As part of his DJing activities, Sylvain Quément compiled and coordinated the release of "Chevance (etc.)" and "Tape Music, Sound Experiments And Free Folk Songs From Freinet Classes - 1962​/​1982" for the french label Born Bad records, with friends Yassine de Vos, Tom Gagnaire or Raffael Dörig. Writing the liner notes for these projects, he also occasionnaly contributes to some music magazines and revues (Audimat, Musique Journal, Chronicart, The Drone…).
