Gidi Gov (born 4 August 1950 in Rehovot) is an Israeli singer, actor and TV host. In 1969, after enlisting in the IDF, Yair Rosenblum suggested he audition for The Nahal Troupe. He passed the audition and while in the Troupe he met both his wife, Anat Gov, and most of the other musicians who would join him in the founding of Kaveret in 1973, considered the most successful rock/pop group in Israeli music history. After the band broke up in 1976 Gov appeared in a number of movies and television series and sang in the bands Gazoz and Doda (3). He launched his solo career with a self-titled album in 1978. Gov's 1987 rock album "Manners" (Hebrew: דרך ארץ), with songs written by Yehuda Poliker, is certified platinum in Israel, as his 1991 pop album "Not A Day Left" (Hebrew: אין עוד יום). In 2012 Gov became a judge for the TV series Kochav Nolad (A Star Is Born, the Israeli version of American Idol or Pop Idol), joining the show for its tenth season. He has also participated in all the Kaveret reunions over the years, including the 40th anniversary performance which is documented on the 2013 live album "The Final Concert".
