Об исполнителе:
Considered by many as a legend in his own time and one of Tejano music's most remarkable vocalists, Jimmy Edward has been entertaining fans since the 1960s. Jimmy was born on March 16, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas, and by the age of 12, he was playing bass with a local high school band. While participating in different traditional Mexican music outfits, the opportunity to become a professional came when he joined Sunny & the Sunliners. In 1969, Jimmy teamed up with Rudy Guerra to form Latin Breed, arguably one of Tejano music’s most creatively and commercially successful groups. The band released several albums, Return of the Latin Breed and Mas Latin Breed, as well as perhaps the first Tejano anthem -- the song “El Tejano Enamorado." Jimmy went solo in 1975 with his debut album Memories, which contained mostly English & Spanglish covers of "oldies" songs, and featured his Chicano adaptation of Danny Daniel's "16 Años," called “Memories (16 Años)." That song became a mega hit reaching #4 on Billboard’s regional chart. In 1982 Jimmy scored again with “Tu Prieto." In the 1990’s he began to singing Spanish-language Christian Music.
