Composer, performer, hula teacher and chanter. Johnny Lum Ho was inspired by his grandmother to work with Hawaiian music. His first appearance on a recorded release was the Nanea by Hawaiian band Ho‘onanea which was released in 1979. He wrote two songs for the album and co-composed two more with Bernard Kalua. He also played six string ukulele to the recording. His composition, "Ha'aheo E Ka Manu Pikake" appears on the 1982 album Cane Fire by The Peter Moon Band. His compositions appear on releases by other Hawaiian artists.
