Jan Rubini

Swedish American violinist, bandleader, composer & conductor (b. Stockhom, Sweden ??? - d. USA ???) Father was director of Royal Swedish Opera Company. Child prodigy who first performed publicly age 9. Educated in England & with his two sisters (Betty & Sylvia) travelled throughout Europe (billed as "The Rubini Trio"). Gold medal from London College of Music age 13. Formerd Rubini Trio with sisters. Went to USA age 18 and gave first US concert at New York Town Hall. Musical Director at Criterion Theatre, Los Angeles and had written the scores for several films when offered a contract to appear at opening of Capitol Theatre, Melbourne in 1929. Returned to U.S. in 193? Back in Australia 1939 and again in 1942 & 1946.
