German Black Metal band formed in 1992. Lyrics and visuals focus mainly around themes of National Socialism, German history, and the Second World War. The original band members Hendrik Möbus, Sebastian Schauseil and Andreas all served time in prison for the murder of a classmate, during which time the band briefly existed under the name In Ketten. In 1999, the original members left the band and it was continued by Wolf Möbus with a changing line up. In 2012, the band entered into a period of hiatus and ceased to exist in all but name. By 2017, Hendrik Möbus decided to reform the line-up and become an active member of Absurd once again. Hendrik claims that Wolf sold the rights on the Absurd recordings, on which he once participated, to him. Both parties continue to claim ownership over the official Absurd title and legacy.
