Hendrik Möbus

German neo-Nazi black metal drummer and vocalist. Original member of German black metal band Absurd. Runs the Darker Than Black record label. On April 29, 1993, Möbus and the other original Absurd members (Sebastian Schauseil and Andreas Kirchner), all minors at the time, murdered one of their classmates, a fifteen-year-old boy named Sandro Beyer. He was sentenced to eight years in prison but was released after five. While in prison the three continued composing and performing Absurd's music under the pseudonym "In Ketten" which means "In Chains". After his release on parole in 1998, Möbus was arrested for performing the banned stiff-arm Nazi salute live on stage. In July 1999 his parole was revoked for this act and other violations; because of this, it was ruled that he would have to serve the remaining three years of his prison sentence. He fled to the United States in December 1999, where he remained in hiding until his capture on August 26, 2000. He remained in US custody while awaiting the results of an appeal for political asylum. This claim was rejected in July 2001, and he was extradited to Germany to serve his sentence, plus twenty-six additional months for performing the Nazi salute and mocking and demeaning his murder victim. On May 15, 2003 he was sentenced to four more years in prison. He is also a founder of the Deutsche Heidnische Front, a pagan nationalist group originally aligned with Nazi party beliefs. In 2001 they began denying any political affiliation or ethnic/religious hatred.
