Giuseppe "Beppe" Viola (born 26 October 1939 in Milan, Italy – died 17 October 1982 in Milan, Italy) was an Italian sports journalist (mainly of football) but also a writer and humorist. A childhood friend of Enzo Jannacci, they worked together in the late 70s in some tracks where Viola featured as voice and lyrics songwriter. At Intra's Derby Club, located in Milan and better known as Derby Club, he also collaborated with some of most popular Italian 70s comedians who later have become fine actors as Diego Abatantuono, Cochi E Renato, Paolo Villaggio and others. Viola suddenly and untimely died of a intracranial hemorrhage in 1982, when he was at the top of his popularity. In his memory, a youth association football tournament, the still existing "Torneo Città di Arco - Beppe Viola", was named after him.
