Об исполнителе:
American R&B and soul disk jockey, TV show host, and label owner from Chicago, Illinois. Born April 10, 1906 in Memphis, Tennessee, he arrived in Chicago via freight train at the age of 16. It's unclear exactly how he got his start in Chicago radio, but it's clear he was a major hit. His 1950s show "Open the Door, Richard" was on WGES, the most powerful black radio station at that time, and it opened the door for many other DJs. Around 1960 he took over the Cobra Record Corp./Artistic (2)/Abco Records studio and the Paso Records label, which he continued to run alongside his own Foxy label. His labels' releases were compiled by Ace on Foxy R&B Richard Stamz Chicago Blues. Passed away June 12, 2007 in Chicago, Illinois at the age of 101.
