The Gentleman Callers were a St. Louis, MO based rock n' roll combo with a sound heavily steeped in 1960's soul, pop and rhythm & blues. The group released one critically acclaimed album (Don't Say What It Is, Wee Rock Records) as well as a 3-song 7" record that is now sold out and out of print. The Gentleman Callers also contributed a number of songs to various CD compilations, most notably the song "Ramona Say Yes" to the "Brown Eyed Handsome Man" Chuck Berry tribute album. Other compilations include the Pro-Vel Records' "It Came From Uranus" and the Bert Dax "A Very Bert Dax Christmas, Volume 1" compilations. Their sophomore album, titled "A Tangled Mess" and recorded shortly before their demise, was posthumously released in download-only form by Trouble In River City (TIRC) Records in late 2010. The Gentleman Callers played a large number of shows during their 5-year run; often with some of the top bands of their respective genre and in some cases some of the most revered artists in the world. The list includes Chuck Berry, Dick Dale, the Black Keys, the Cynics, the Boss Martians, The Charms, Thee Shams, and many more. Their last show was to be opening for the legendary Question Mark & The Mysterians, who unfortunately cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.
