Tima Reece

South African singer / songwriter and aspiring actress born April 26, 1983 in Johannesburg. Young Tia was discovered in 1998 by producer Chris Ghelakis who happened to be watching a TV broadcast of the "Shell Road to Fame" talent competition. She was signed to the "Primedia" stable and her first recording, "Crazy 'Bout You", caused enough of a ripple on the local airwaves that it was sent to Strictly Rhythm in New York -- however, under the stage name of Tima Reece. The single has since become something of a "gay anthem". Tia was signed up and jetted off to New York in 2002 to record an album with some of the best writers/producers; Strictly Rhythm, however, went into liquidation and her debut album, "My Body’s Crying", would only see the light of day in 2004, having finally been released back home through CSR Records. Tia has since married ex-101 pop star Kurt Herman.
