A teen-band formed by Joe Memmer and Dave Gilbert as Midwest Tree Company. By the time of cutting their first single for Marquee-Atco, they shortened their name to the Free. By 1972, the band dropped their psychedelic leaning and became the more pop-oriented Shadow.
