Born in Kingsport, TN in 1947 and Died February 9th, 2014 in Clarksville, TN. (Age 66). Moseley enjoyed a long career as a studio musician. He produced more than 30 popular record albums as an audio engineer for Warner Brothers records, Catfish Bay Sound Studio in Nashville, Cavern Studios (2) in Independence, Missouri, as well as One Step Up Recording Studio in Los Angeles. Moseley was nominated for a Grammy for his audio production work and voted on the Grammys for 16 years. In 1969, Moseley and two other Clarksville, TN musicians agreed to play with Chris Nunley in The Royal Guardsmen to complete a final touring obligation. Moseley had been recruited after playing keys for Clarksville, TN group Rubber Duck. When the tour ended the four moved back to Clarksville and became the group Home. After getting bumped from American Studios, they discovered Cavern Studios (2) in Independence, Missouri and cut demos of 32 songs to make their full-length debut album. From September 1969 to January 1970, they spent so much time in the studio they were given the keys to the studio and allowed to work on the album after hours. The album was never released. They changed their name to Mulligan (6) and soldiered on for another three years. After the band broke up, Moseley stayed at Cavern Studios and worked there for years as an engineer and arranger. After working in the music and broadcast industries for nearly four decades, Moseley received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. Upon completion of his degrees in 1994 and ’96 respectively, he became a faculty member and served the University for 18 years until his death. He served as an associate professor of communication at Austin Peay, teaching courses in broadcast media, audio and video production, digital photojournalism and sports broadcasting.
