French documentary filmmaker, creative producer and production coordinator (b. January 1978); lives and works in Paris. Angélique Bosio is best known for directing two documentaries, Llik Your Idols (2007), about New York's mid-1980s "Cinema of Transgression" and "No Wave" experimental film movements, and The Advocate for Fagdom (2011) on iconic Canadian queercore filmmaker Bruce LaBruce. Bosio has been a Chief Art Buyer at Ogilvy Paris since 2021. Angelique Bosio began her career in film distribution and production, working at Mondo Films and managing various projects for Première Heure and other production houses. She has collaborated with many visual artists and musicians, including Pierre Debusschere, Studio l'Etiquette, and Yann Gonzalez, and commissioned works for luxury fashion brands, such as Dior Homme, Yves Saint Laurent, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Roberto Cavalli. In 2002, she began working on Llik Your Idols documentary, collecting archival film footage and traveling to the United States to interview Nick Zedd, Lung Leg (2), Lydia Lunch, Joe Coleman (2), Richard Hell, Thurston Moore (of Sonic Youth) and Russell Simins. She talked with numerous other artists, filmmakers, musicians and writers involved in New York's Lower East Side underground scene, including Jack Sargeant, author of "Deathtripping: The Cinema of Transgression" book. Llik Your Idols premiered at several festivals in 2007, including the Erotic Film Festival in Los Angeles, California. In 2011, Angélique Bosio presented her second feature-length documentary, The Advocate for Fagdom, focused on the life and work of legendary filmmaker and artist Bruce LaBruce, which was nominated for the "Best Documentary" prize at Berlin International Film Festival. The movie features interviews and footage with Kembra Pfahler, Richard Kern, Harmony Korine, Gus Van Sant, actor John Waters, Vaginal Davis, Rupert Goldsworthy, Daniel Nicoletta, Susanne Sachße and others. Bosio's third documentary, Pretty en Rose (2013), is dedicated to a controversial fashion designer Fifi Chachnil. The following year, Angélique was one of the executive producers on She's Bad music video by DyE featuring Egyptian Lover, directed by Dent De Cuir.
