Marie Alemo-Kora Nyi

Swedish classical violinist, born on September 18, 1954 in Västra Skrävlinge, Skåne. Alemo held a violin 1 position at Kungliga Hovkapellet between the years 1981 and 2017. For her first thirty years of employment in the orchestra, she was awarded with Kungliga Hovkapellet's medal of Merit from the hands of His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden, at a celebration at The Royal Opera House, Stockholm on January 27, 2012. Between the years 2002 and 2008, she was also a violin teacher at 'Nordiska Musikgymnasiet', a school with a classical music profile on Swedish 'gymnasium' level, in Stockholm. Her surnames: Alemo-Koranyi (or 'Kora Nyi' here) comes from her earlier marriage, 1981-1999, with Gabor Koranyi, Swedish eye surgeon of Hungarian descent. Together, they have two children, a son: Jakob Koranyi and a daughter: Isa.
