Starjackers

Starjackers are Andy 'ABX' Bury and Dom 'Bud' Farrington- two well-known DJ's and producers from different areas in the dance music scene who have developed a reputation within their respective scenes for rocking dancefloors and creating many anthemic club moments spanning over the past two decades. Originally both hailing from Birmingham (UK) but now residing in London and Leeds, they have remained long-term collaborators since being brought together in the late 80s through pirate radio and a mutual love of hip hop, disco and funk - styles which continue to influence their sound to this day. Taking inspiration from various musical backgrounds, their fusion of styles works well to create a yin and yang of ecclectic ideas with no boundaries. Pre-'Starjackers', one of their notable early co-productions was the 2004 breaks anthem Brothers Bud vs Z2 'Herbgrinder' on Fingerlickin - Now regarded by many as a classic. The Starjackers project began in 2008 - Kicking off to an incredible start with their debut single 'Givin' All My Love' (featuring vocalist Wilson Roberts). Together with a stellar package of remixes from heavyweight producers 'Micky Slim' and 'Kim Fai' (Toolroom) it headed straight for the No.1 spot on many download sites, and was recently regarded by DJDownload as one of their all-time biggest selling singles to date! This promptly followed with various remixes and a modest list of DJ dates including the headline spot on various Ministry of Sound 'Clubbers Guide' tours. By 2009 their follow-up single 'New Season' also continued to follow in the same footsteps- achieving their second No.1 download in less than a year. Now in 2010 their latest release 'Something Happening' is undoubtedly also destined for big things- Having recently been signed to the mighty 'Southern Fried' label (Armand Van Helden, Crookers), it has already received phenomenal upfront support from none other than Fatboy Slim who regards it as 'one of his tunes of the year'. It's all good! "Our mission is just to make good music regardless of genre with no set boundaries. If we like it, we'll do it!... We just want people to feel our tunes and have a good time!"
