Примечание: Speed & Thrash made in Germany - this seal of approval has existed since the mid-eighties. Back then, bands like Kreator, Destruction and Sodom became internationally successful. New acts were founded everywhere in the wake of these bands. Not everyone was able to get a record deal directly, including Poison Asp from Speyer. Their first demo „Schizoid Nightmares“ (1985) can still be assigned to Speed Metal. In 1988 they appeared on the compilation „German Metal Fighters 2“ with two titles and now played flawless thrash. A video clip was made for “Listen To The Voices From The Vault”, which was promptly used by “Hard‘n‘Heavy” (Tele 5) and made the band known throughout Germany. Finally a label offered a record deal. As a result, the EP „Beyond The Walls Of Sleep“ was recorded under the direction of Robbie Baumann (Exumer, Tokyo Blade etc.) in Stuttgart. The company stopped operating even before it was published. So, the band decided to publish the vinyl on their own. But Poison Asp broke apart, so that the EP was not distributed and is a rarity today. Drummer Christoph Thurner was able to persuade his fellow musicians to at least make one last studio recording. Three songs were recorded, but never mixed and released. After that, Poison Asp were finally a thing of the past. Only singer and guitarist Tosse later appeared with bands like Scapegoat or Crematory. Today, thanks to the web, Poison Asp are better known than when they were active. Not only collectors are looking like crazy for the EP, also young Thrash fans crave the rare recordings. Golden Core is now putting an end to the search with “Beyond The Walls Of Sleep - The Complete Work”. As the title gives it away, the CD contains all the recordings mentioned. This also includes the three unpublished songs that were dubbed especially for this release in London and then mixed by Neudi. All other recordings have been restored and remastered. The extensive booklet contains liner notes based on an interview with drummer Christoph Thurner, as well as rare photos, flyers and press reports. This CD is definitely a strong evidence that many label bosses sat on their ears in the late 1980s. Even in 2020 the style between German Thrash and Megadeth does not sound dusty and will posthumously catapult the band back into the scene.
