Beethoven's string quartets were recorded twice by The Hungarian Quartet. This, the second version, features the following players -
Cello – Gabor Magyar
Viola – Denes Koromzay
Violin – Michael Kuttner
Violin – Zoltan Szekely
Issued month-by-month by The Record Society from July 1968, in stereo only. It was reissued at least seven times, and also issued in New Zealand at least once (SRZ 6296 onwards - the catalogues had diverged, but not a great deal).
Australian 1st pressing - dark brown labels, with volume number above the inner label ring
Australian 2nd pressing - dark brown labels, with volume number within the inner label ring
Australian 3rd pressing - light brown labels (the herald figure now white), with italics used for track titles
Australian 4th pressing - light brown labels, with non-bold font used for the track titles
Australian 5th pressing - light brown labels, with tall header font and all text in bold non-italic
Australian 6th pressing - R- numbers on labels, textured sleeve (this may have changed part-way through the reissues, with overlap from laminated sleeves)
Australian 7th pressing - R- numbers on labels, non-textured sleeve (with laminate strip or no laminate strip - this may have changed part-way through the reissues - or there may be an 8th pressing)
