The String Quartets (1956)

Beethoven's string quartets were recorded twice by The Hungarian Quartet. This, the first version, from 1953-1956, features the following players - Cello – Vilmos Palotai Viola – Denes Koromzay Violin – Alexandre Moskowsky Violin – Zoltan Szekely The series was regarded by The Record Society as its flagship release, and was issued three times - from July 1960, July 1962 and August 1964 - with each volume issued individually at two-month intervals.
