Underworld Records (3)

Underworld Records was an independent Canadian record label and record store founded in 1995 by Alex Bastide. From 1995 to December of 1999, it was located in Chomedey, Laval, Quebec; then it moved to Ahuntsic, Montreal, Quebec from December 1999 to 2006. In 2003 a second store was opened in Ville-Marie, Montreal, Quebec (downtown Montreal) which ultimately became the sole location after the Ahuntsic store closed down. Bastide also operated a skate shop and a concert venue out of the same locations. Because of this, the company was registered under several different names including Underworld Records, Underworld Musik, Musique Underworld, Musique Underworld Musik, Underworld Skateshop Skateboard, Planches A Roulettes Underworld, La Boutique De Planche A Roulette Underworld and Cabaret Underworld. Bastide now operates a major chain of vegetarian restaurants across Quebec (and soon Vancouver) name L'Gros Luxe. Bastide also operated the tour booking agency Under Attack Touring and Piece Of Mind Entertainment, and currently operates Underworld Skateboard Vancouver.
