Homokord
Настоящее имя: Homokord
Homokord was a German shellac label, operating under this name between 1907 and 1924.
Subsequently operating as Homocord from 1924 - 1932.
Originally founded by Hermann Eisner in 1904 as Homophon Company, it changed the name due to a lost patent litigation in November 1907.
The matrix allows to date a recording (the release date however can be much later):
It usually features a letter - (digit -) digit - letter combination (e.g. F4D or C10C)
The first letter indicates the recording month (A to M)
The numbers indicate the recording day (1 to 31)
The last letter indicates the recording year (T to B).
The recording years are starting in 1907 with T and then decrease:
T = 1907; S = 1908; R = 1909; Q = 1910; P = 1911; O = 1912; N = 1913; M = 1914; L = 1915; K = 1916; J = 1917; H = 1918; G = 1919; F = 1920; E = 1921; D = 1922; C = 1923; B = 1924.
I was not used to avoid being confused with 1. U and V were used in 1906 and 1905; A and W 1925 and 1926.
The recording day is given with one or two numbers between 1 and 31.
The recording month starts with A for January and increases:
A = January; B = February; C = March; D = April; E = May; F = June; G = July; H = August; J = September; K = October; L = November; M = December.
I was not used.
So, F4D would mean a recording on 4 June 1922, and C10C on 10 March 1923.
