Bost Records
Настоящее имя: Bost Records
The Bost Record Co. was established in New York in 1942 by the emigrated Herbert H. Borchardt. Borchardt had formerly worked for German and French Polydor.
The company specialized in issuing recordings of musical genres that were not covered by the main recording companies. The stated purpose of the company was "to issue albums of records that do not conflict with items that are already available in the catalogues of the 'Big Three,'" per the September 1942 article in The New Records bulletin (Vol. 10, No. 7, page 9).
First issues of Bost were in September 1942, including recordings by Kurt Baum, Miklos Schwalb and Francisco Mignone as well as albums on the history of piano music, early American songs and other musical topics.
