Société De Pressage De Disques

Vinyl pressing plant in Ballancourt-sur-Essonne (France), operating under this name since May 1971. It was previously known as Société française de Pressage (SFP). The company was owned by plastics factory Dimoplast. Whereas SFP advertised mastering, reel-to-reel duplication and cassette manufacturing/duplication services, SPD appears to have been pressing only. Dimoplast closed in 1980 but pressing appears to have ended mid-seventies. Pressings can be identified by the spd logo (with the last two letters combined) etched in the runout area (see picture).
