AVALON is a producer and distributor of independent film founded in 1996 by Stefan Schmitz. In 2007, after years of collaboration, Maria Zamora and Enrique Costa became partners of the company and now head departments of production and distribution respectively. Today AVALON has a catalog of more than 200 feature films and documentaries and opens in theaters between 10 and 15 films every year. In 2011 they joined Filmin film for display via the Internet. In January 2012, AVALON joined the Europa Distribution network. In addition to its own catalog, AVALON distributes thousands of hours of television programming as GLOBAL SCREEN catalogs, Deutsche Welle or SKY VISION Interntaional. Series, miniseries, TV movies, animation and documentaries of these catalogs are shown on almost all TV channels in Spain. Since 2014, AVAVON distributed catalog SKY VISION also in Latin America. As a producer, AVALON has produced Spanish films like "Shame" by David Planell, "La mujer sin piano" by Javier Rebollo, "Map" by Leon Siminiani and , most recently, "Everyone is dead" by Beatriz Sanchis. Similarly, 17 short films by renowned Spanish directors, as well as several co-productions with Latin American countries.
