Astoria Record

German label, founded ca. 1912. Astoria was an Odeon product, the "2000 Ar" series with exclusively recorded matrices, therefore difficult to date precisely because they cannot be sorted anywhere else. There are also Astorias with "5000 Ar" numbers that are adoptions from the Jumbo / Jumbola catalog (Bo and Be matrices) in the same time frame. The label design, with the exception of the label name, is identical to that of Walhalla-Record. Both labels issued the same matrices under the same title and catalog numbers. The Ar-suffix of the catalog numbers is probably connected to the Arion company name mentioned on some Astoria labels.
