German conservatory based in the City of Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1797 by Franz Joseph Fröhlich as "Collegium musicum academicum". From 1921 to August 1973, the conservatory was named "Bayerisches Staatskonservatorium der Musik", before getting renamed on September 1st, 1973 into "Hochschule für Musik Würzburg".
