Настоящее имя: Visby International Centre For Composers
Visby International Centre For Composers (VICC), also known as Visby Internationella Tonsättarcentrum, is a Swedish work space and residency for composers, established in 1999. VICC provides a meeting place and creative environment for contemporary composers from around the world and organizes collaborative projects, concerts, conferences, and seminars. Visby is also an official ISCM Gotland Section. The Centre has an executive director Sten Melin and studio manager Jesper Elén.
In 1997, the Gotland School of Music Composition held a week-long seminar Young Composers in the Baltic Region with a grant from Stiftelsen Framtidens kultur. Representatives from the Societies of Composers in Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark and Sweden discussed the plan to establish an "International Center for Composers" in Visby, similar to the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators. Since 1999, over 700 composers-in-residence and 1,200 guests from 60 countries composed more than 1000 pieces at VICC.
