TVS

ITV contractor (later TVS Television plc) for the south and south-east of England from 01/01/1982–31/12/1992. The company purchased Mary Tyler Moore productions in the late 1980s. The company did not win the franchise starting on 01/01/1993, with broadcasting rights going to Meridian, but TVS remained operational as an independent producer based in Maidstone, Kent. The company was subsequently acquired by IFE (International Family Entertainment, Inc.) as the basis for The Family Channel (UK), itself acquired by Fox Kids and eventually Disney in 2001. The company is not part of ITV plc and much of the paperwork for its television productions has been lost making repeats and commercial releases impossible.
