Protestant Church of the Saviour ("Kirche zum Erlöser") in Trier, Germany. The present church was consecrated in 1856. It is based on a Roman monumental hall, the largest column-free room still preserved from ancient times. It was built around 310 by the Roman emperor Constantine, from whom it takes today's name. It originally served as the palace assembly hall and throne room of the Roman emperors, with a length of 71 metres, a width of 32.6 metres and a height of over 36 metres. The buidling has been listed as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 1986.
