Bon Ami Records

Bon Ami Records was the first new label founded by Sylvia Robinson during the hiatus of Sugarhill Records. Established in 1985, Bon Ami was the first label to discover fellow New Jersey natives Naughty By Nature (when they were known as The New Style) and all the way through 1994, they managed to license a few records for release to MCA Records, including the 1989 debut LP by The New Style - "Independent Leaders". Bon Ami was eventually made a subsidiary of her new record label umbrella called West Street Entertainment Group, which also housed the Diamond Head Records label (of which The Sugarhill Gang was one of its first acts on the roster).
