"emit is a division of time recording ltd." Ambient label from Nottingham UK, originally active between 1994-1998. Founded by Chris Allen and David Thompson (6), operating under the umbrella of Time Recording Ltd. with Thompson in the A&R role. Noted for its distinctive animal-themed release artwork created by The Designers Republic. The label emblem on most releases appears to be a stylized form of the kanji 輝 (ki) meaning "radiance" or "sparkle". Many releases declared their use of the Roland Sound Space (R.S.S) 3D sound imaging system as part of the recording process at Square Centre Studios. In 2003 the label was relaunched and rebranded as "em:t records". Catalogue numbers: The last two digits indicate the year of release, e.g. "94" represents 1994. The first two digits indicate the order of release within that year, e.g. sequence starting at "00", followed by "11", etc.
