DADC, Pitman
Настоящее имя: DADC, Pitman
DADC, Pitman refers to Sony's CD manufacturing plant located in Pitman, NJ, USA, active under various names (Digital Audio Disc Corporation/DADC; Sony Disc Manufacturing; Sony DADC) since Sony Corp. took over the facility with its purchase of CBS Records Inc. in 1988. This facility was originally opened as a vinyl pressing plant in 1961 by CBS (see Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman, and converted to CD manufacturing in 1988 shortly before being purchased by Sony and renamed DADC. Sony eventually closed the plant in March 2011, transferring its equipment to another Sony DADC plant in Terre Haute, IN.
CDs pressed by this plant can be identified by a Pitman mould/hub stamp: a number preceded by "P" or "CMU P", sometimes located very close to the innermost edge. This stamp can be entered in the Barcode and Other Identifiers (BaOI) section "Pressing Plant ID" field and the plant itself can be entered in the Label, Company, Catalog Number, Etc. (LCCN) section "Pressed By" field as DADC, Pitman with no catalog number.
CDs glass mastered at this plant do have some unique characteristics (at least to about 1995), but nothing that can currently be used to give this plant a Glass Mastered At credit. However, if the matrix has one of the four-letter DADC codes (e.g. DIDX or DIDP) in the distinctive Sony font, a generic Glass Mastered At - DADC credit is warranted; see the DADC profile for details.
